An Arranged Marriage

Corinne isn't aware of the arranged marriage the Crumpton and Dempsey parents have planned for her in 25 years. Harlan, however, caught wind of the plot from his mom. Jane Ann told 10-month old Harlan he was just about to meet his future wife as they pulled into the driveway.
Ususpecting Corinne

Harlan decides to check this babe out for himself.
"Yowsa! She's a cutie!"

The culprits.

Going home for me includes hanging with old friends and acting 18 again. No one brings that about better than Betsy Harned, the queen of CD hopping. While Betsy and Jane Ann poured some sugar on me, I danced the afternoon away almost disbelieving that a 7 week old awaited at the grandparents.

Betsy's 3 year-old, Wells, brought delightful chatter to our afternoon.

A warm thank you to everyone in Kentucky for a wonderful week.

Homeward Bound

This past week, Corinne and I (Melanie) ventured into the Bluegrass State to meet and greet the Rutledge family and friends. Corinne's gj (Grandma Jane) flew to Charleston to hang out and help the two of us prepare for our flight. I must say there wasn't a better traveler than our Corinne. Next she'll be expecting Paris!

Call for the limo, dah-ling! The plane's awaiting!

Corinne had her fair share of affection. I think the goal was to send her back
to Charleston quite spoiled :-)

We hope Corinne inherits Mother's longevity. At 92 she is still spry as ever.

Corinne is lovingly named for all of the Jane's in her life.

gj and Jane Layton Benedict (Melanie's cousin)

Jane Ann Dempsey (quasi-sister and childhood friend of Melanie's)

'Nana Puddin'

This could be the cutest yet!!!
Corinne will probably love her nana puddin just like her dad. Give her a few months and she'll be having Nilla wafers with that puddin'. For those of you from the great white north (yes, I mean Michigan), there is NO 'nana puddin' without Nilla Wafers. Enjoy the clip.
