Popcorn, popcorn

Corinne invited me to her school for Mother's Day lunch a few weeks ago. What a blast! As we all sat on the floor in a circle, Corinne and fellow mates taught the moms the 'Popcorn' song. It is now a favorite after dinner.

Word on the street is that Roman is thinking of trying out for the next season of 'So you think you can dance.' Go, Daddy, Go!

First Date

I finallly got the chance to visit my friend, Elizabeth, and her new baby girl, Ava. She's a mere two weeks younger than Sam. Little did the kiddos know that we were plotting their future relationship :-) Congratulations, Joyners!

Growing Boy

Sam is really growing and filling out lately. Shoot, he should the way he's been eating! We visited the doctor for his well-check this week and he'd gained almost 2lbs and grew an inch and a half in 2 weeks! He's up to 9.4lbs and 22 1/2" long. That was Monday. I dare say that he's more than that today. Trying to figure out nursing with Sam has been a bit more of a challenge than it was with Corinne. The fact that he's growing (a lot!) tells me that something must be going right. Here's a few pics to show his progress:

Hey, this thing is moving!

Sisterly love

Big Sister is enjoying Sam also. Everytime he cries she says, "Feed 'im, Mama, feed 'im!" She's still our little helper doing a great job of bringing me diapers and toys for him. She also enjoys trying on his clothes. Naturally, they don't go very far.

"Tee hee hee. That's so silly!"

Enjoy the weekend!

The Milk Man

Thought you might like to see how the little man is progressing. He's really beginning to fill out and when he's awake, he's very alert. I figured out that he must be going through a growth spurt for he has been eating around the clock every other day. True to his family, he loves to relax and enjoy his meal. Feeding usually takes at least an hour as he takes his time filling up his belly. He can almost fit into the newborn outfits now :-)

Sam knows, too, when we're all in the other room and he's not. Often he'll sit and watch us in various activities around the house. His big sister is his #1 fan. She runs over, arms outstretched. "Hold 'im, Mama." After about 5 seconds, she's ready to return him. "Take it back, Mama." (No malice intended.)

Chillin' in the Moses basket

Favorite spot: the bobby

Corinne hit the birthday circuit this weekend. She is the number one fan of birthday cake, usually securing her spot at the table before anyone else. I'll hand it to her that she waited patiently to be served. We also learned of her new playground acrobatics. She's swinging from bars and has somehow learned the pump kick on the big swing. We have no idea where she picked this up, but she'll soar!
Push-ups, anyone?

Wheeeeee!

Have a great week.

It's a.....BOY!

Heee's here!!!! Samuel Carver Crumpton arrived right on time Thursday, April 2 weighing in at 7lb 5oz. We are so fortunate to have everything go so well for us. His birth was eerily similar to Corinne's, occurring very quickly with a short stay at the hospital following.

Currently, Sam, or Samuel (NOT SAMMY, please), is experiencing elevated bilirubin levels (slight jaundice) but does not look to be of much concern. He's been pounding the boob (he's an eater like his big sis), and has been doing very well. He's got a pretty good set of lungs but we rarely hear them 'cause he's quite content. I know, I know enough of the chit chat, here are the photos.
Yep, That says "7 pounds five-point-4" ounces

I would've come earlier but I had things to do...

Mostly what I do is sleep

Have you ever seen a mother look so good after labor?

Proud Papa with 'wide awake' Sam

I must say give a HUGE THANK YOU!! To Jane and C.E.. Jane has been in town for a couple of weeks since Mel's first series of contractions which turned out to be false labor. We put her to work though doing laundry, cooking, and making sure the freezer was stocked with cookies and ice cream and the liquor cabinet with bourbon-THANKS!
